BTS in Bangkok: three nights at Rajamangala

Bangkok does big concerts well, but this one is bigger than most. BTS bring the Arirang world tour to Rajamangala National Stadium for three nights, Thursday 3, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2026, the group's first full tour since all seven members completed their military service. There is no show on Friday 4 December, which tells you something about the demand: the weekend is split so that three separate crowds, each the size of a small town, get their night.

What you need to know, in short: BTS play Rajamangala National Stadium, Hua Mak, Bangkok, on Thursday 3, Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 December 2026. There is no Friday show. It is the first full group tour since the members finished South Korea's mandatory military service, and the Bangkok production is a 360 degree stadium stage. Tickets were sold through ThaiTicketMajor and Live Nation Tero. The promoter's page lists the general sale as sold out, so buy only through official channels and treat resale offers with suspicion. The stadium has no rail station at the gate. The workable routes are the MRT Yellow Line or the Airport Rail Link to Hua Mak, then a short taxi ride. Saturday 5 December is a public holiday in Thailand, so the whole city is busy. Book your hotel now, not later.

The return everyone waited for

The Arirang tour opened in Goyang, South Korea, in April 2026, and it is the first time RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook have toured together as a full group since the Permission to Dance era ended in 2022. Seven enlistments, seven discharges, and a fanbase that spent the gap years streaming the back catalogue and waiting. Bangkok has always been one of the tour's natural homes: Thailand's ARMY is enormous, Rajamangala is the national stadium, and the December dates land in the city's best weather window, dry and (by Bangkok standards) cool in the evenings.

The show itself is built for a stadium bowl. The promoter describes a 360 degree stage, which means the performance plays to every side of the ground and there is no cheap seat staring at the back of a set. If you have only seen BTS on a screen, the scale of a full stadium singing along in Thai and Korean at the same time is the thing people talk about on the flight home.

Getting to Rajamangala, honestly

Rajamangala sits in Hua Mak, in the Bang Kapi district of eastern Bangkok, inside the national sports complex on Ramkhamhaeng Road. The one thing to understand before you book anything is that no train stops at the stadium. Every route is a train plus a short road leg, or a long road leg on its own, and on a BTS night the roads around Hua Mak slow to a crawl well before showtime.

The two routes that work: ride the MRT Yellow Line to Hua Mak station and take a taxi, Grab or motorcycle taxi for the last ten to fifteen minutes; or ride the Airport Rail Link to Hua Mak or Ramkhamhaeng station and do the same. If you are coming from Sukhumvit or the old town, set off far earlier than feels reasonable, eat near your hotel rather than near the ground, and agree your route home before the encore: walk back towards the station with the crowd and pick up your ride from there, rather than trying to be collected at the stadium gates.

Where to stay

Staying near the stadium, around Ramkhamhaeng, Hua Mak and Bang Kapi, makes the concert night easy and puts you on the Yellow Line for the rest of the trip. It is a local, lived in part of Bangkok, good for street food and market wandering, and noticeably cheaper than the centre.

Staying in town, around Asok, the Sukhumvit strip or Ratchada, gives you the full Bangkok weekend: malls, rooftop bars, the river a train ride away, and straightforward links to both the Yellow Line and the Airport Rail Link for concert night. With the 5 December public holiday falling between the first and second shows, Bangkokians are travelling too, and rooms across the city tighten up. Our Bangkok hotel guide covers both areas; the honest advice for this weekend is to book the cancellable room as soon as your ticket is confirmed, because prices for the concert block only move one way. Sign up for the Thailand What's On weekly note and we will flag the weekends when the city fills up, BTS included, before the hotels do.
