About this event
The official 2027 holiday calendar gives Asanha Bucha Day as Sunday 18 July 2027, the full moon of the eighth Thai lunar month, commemorating the Buddha's first sermon. Temples across Bangkok hold morning alms giving and evening wien tien candlelight processions. Alcohol sales are prohibited on the day under Thai law. Because the date falls on a Sunday, substitution holidays follow: banks close on Monday 19 July 2027 as their substitution day, and government offices close on Tuesday 20 July 2027, the Monday already being the Khao Phansa government holiday. Both substitution arrangements have their own records in this dataset.
