About this event
Kaeng Krachan, a UNESCO World Heritage forest and Thailand's largest national park, is one of the country's premier butterfly sites. The Tourism Authority of Thailand's butterflies and wildflowers guide gives April to June as the best time, when the transition from hot season to rains brings countless butterflies to the mineral licks, stream banks and damp forest floor around Ban Krang Camp. The 2027 window shown follows the Tourism Authority of Thailand's published April to June season. The gatherings are strongest on warm mornings after overnight rain, and Ban Krang is also a prime birding camp in the same months.
