About this event
Khao Sok protects one of the oldest rainforests on earth, and its centrepiece, Cheow Lan Lake, is at its most navigable in the dry months. Park guides put the driest, most reliable season from December to April, when trails are passable, boat trips run on schedule and the giant rafflesia flowers bloom in the forest. The park stays open all year, but heavy rain from June to October regularly closes trails and caves. The window shown is the published dry season pattern for 2026-27, not a park closure period: the Department of National Parks keeps Khao Sok open year round and sets entry at the gate. Floating raft houses on the lake are booked through the park and local operators, and a dawn boat safari is the best hour for gibbons, hornbills and langurs on the shore.
