About this event
The Wai Sa Phaya Mengrai festival pays homage at the King Mengrai Monument, marking the founding of Chiang Rai in 1262, with parades in Lanna dress, cultural performances, contests and food and craft stalls. The 2027 programme is not yet confirmed by Chiang Rai province, so this record is expected: the festival is held on the same numbered dates every year, from 26 January to 4 February. The public ceremonies and fair are free.
