About this event
Mukdahan celebrates Songkran on its Mekong riverfront, where the town faces Savannakhet in Laos across the water and the Second Thai Lao Friendship Bridge links the two. The festival centres on the river promenade and the Indochina Market area, with merit making at the town's temples, sand stupa building and water play along the bank. Songkran is fixed on 13 to 15 April 2027. Mukdahan's local programme is published by the municipality close to the festival; the record follows the fixed Songkran pattern, so it is marked expected rather than official.
