Phichit's long boat racing is described in Tourism Authority of Thailand material as the original and grandest of its kind, held annually on the first weekend of September on the Nan River in front of Wat Tha Luang, when the river is at its highest, with a royal barge procession simulation and boat beauty contests. The 2027 dates are not yet published, so this record is expected on that pattern.
