About this event
Thale Noi, the northern arm of the Songkhla Lake system, is one of Southeast Asia's great wetlands: in the season from February to May its shallows bloom with lotus and water lilies and fill with resident and migrant waterbirds, and local boatmen run dawn trips from the Khuan Khanun shore through the flower fields as the birds lift off. The season follows water levels and the bloom rather than published dates. The window shown follows the established February to May pattern published in wetland guides, so this record is marked expected.
