About this event
Bun Pha Wet is Isan's beloved retelling of the Vessantara Jataka, the Buddha's last life before enlightenment, read in a single day of sermons. Roi Et's edition is the region's grandest, centred on Bueng Phlan Chai island and Wat Burapha Phiram, with an invitation procession for Phra Uppakhut, the full sermon cycle, alms of thousands of rice balls and evening festivities across three days in the fourth lunar month. The 2027 dates are not yet published by the province. The window shown follows the festival's established pattern of a March weekend in the fourth lunar month and will be updated when Roi Et province announces the edition.
