About this event
Hat Yai is famous for starting Songkran before everyone else: its Midnight Songkran opens on the night of 12 April in the city centre around Niphat Uthit and Sanehanusorn roads, drawing Malaysian and Singaporean visitors across the border for foam parties, stages and water play that run into the national Songkran days of 13 to 15 April. Songkran is fixed nationally on 13 to 15 April 2027. Hat Yai's local programme, including the midnight opening, is published by the municipality and the Tourism Authority of Thailand's Hat Yai office close to the festival, so this record is marked expected. The window shown covers the midnight opening and the first two festival days in the centre.
