Loy Krathong falls on Tuesday 24 November 2026, the full moon of the twelfth lunar month, a date fixed nationally. Udon Thani's central celebration is at Nong Prajak Silpakhom Park, the town centre lake with its giant rubber duck landmark, where the municipality stages a krathong contest, beauty pageant and floating areas around the shore. Udon Thani's local programme is published close to the festival. This record follows the fixed national date, so it is marked expected rather than official. The city's winter headline, the Red Lotus Sea season on Nong Han lake, opens the following month and is carried as its own record in this pass.
