About this event
Poy Sang Long, the Festival of the Crystal Sons, is the Shan ordination ceremony held at temples across Mae Hong Son and the north, with each community staging its own three day ceremony of processions, feasting and shaving and ordination rites. The 2027 dates are not yet confirmed, because temple dates are set locally, so this record is expected and covers the established season window from 20 March to mid April 2027, within which the Mae Hong Son town ceremonies fall. Watching the public processions is free.
