About this event
Rap Bua is Bang Phli's signature rite, held on the thirteenth day of the waxing moon of the eleventh lunar month, just before the end of Buddhist Lent. A replica of the Luang Pho To Buddha image travels by boat along the Samrong Canal from Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai, and devotees on both banks throw lotus flowers into the boat as an offering, a tradition the district has kept for generations. The Tourism Authority of Thailand's October calendar listed the 2026 festival from 19 to 27 October at Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai. The 2027 dates are not yet published. The window shown follows the lunar rule into 2027, when the main ceremony falls just before Ok Phansa on 15 October 2027, and will be updated when the district or the Tourism Authority of Thailand publishes the programme.
