Doi Suthep Pilgrimage on the Eve of Visakha Bucha 2027
Thousands walk the 9 to 11 km mountain road to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep through the night before Visakha Bucha, helped by food and drink stations along the way.

About this event
On the eve of Visakha Bucha, Chiang Mai devotees walk up Doi Suthep from the Kruba Srivichai Monument, usually starting at about 20:00, and spend the night at the temple for the dawn alms ceremony; festival listings give the next walk as 19 May 2027, the eve of Visakha Bucha on 20 May. The 2027 programme is not yet confirmed by the temple or the TAT Chiang Mai office, so this record is expected: the walk follows the fixed pattern of the night before Visakha Bucha each year. Joining the walk is free.
