About this event
The Inthakin, or Sai Khan Dok, festival honours Chiang Mai's city pillar at Wat Chedi Luang with days of merit making, a procession of the Phra Chao Fon Saen Ha Buddha image and offerings of flowers, incense and candles; the 2026 edition ran from 13 to 19 May with closing rites on 20 May, as reported with the TAT Chiang Mai office. The 2027 date is not yet confirmed, so this record is expected: the festival follows the Lanna lunar calendar in the eighth northern month, which points to the first week of May 2027, about eleven days earlier than 2026 in line with the lunar shift, and the exact days must be checked with the temple. The festival is free.
